Sheet Music Transcription
If I want to learn a piece I heard online, can you help me find or create the sheet music?
Yes! If we are able to find the version you prefer online for free, that’s great. If it requires a purchase, students will need to cover the cost of downloading the sheet music.
For songs that do not have readily available sheet music in the version you want, I offer transcription services. Please note that transcribing music is a time-consuming process that requires careful attention to detail.
Pricing is based on the length and complexity of the piece:
- Introductory Level (Simplified excerpt, </=20-40 measures): $0.50 per measure (Deposit: $5-10)
- Beginner Level (Simplified song, 41-60 measures): $10 per minute of the song (Deposit: $20)
- Intermediate Level: (Simplified full song) $20 per minute of the song (Deposit: $35)
- Advanced Level: $30-40 per minute of the song (Deposit: $50)
* Complex Arrangements (e.g., heavy syncopation, intricate rhythms, dense chords): May be subject to an additional fee.
As a reference, a 3.5-minute popular song from YouTube (~110 measures) for Beginner/Intermediate levels typically costs $75. For example, it generally takes me 9 hours to transcribe a typical intermediate-level song, which is reflected in the pricing. With my experience in music theory and transcription, I ensure that each arrangement is accurate and well-structured for students at their skill level.
The non-refundable deposit is required upfront before the transcription begins. This deposit will be applied toward the total cost of the sheet music. If the final cost is lower than the deposit, the difference will be refunded. Please note that the remaining balance for the final cost must be paid in full before the sheet music is delivered.
Transcriptions typically take 2-4 weeks to complete, depending on complexity.
